The Town Council, in conjunction with the Environment Agency, has set up a Community Flood Plan and appointed three volunteer Flood Wardens. The Wardens cover the four areas in the town which are at possible risk of flooding, whether by river or surface water, or by ground water.
Over the last few months the Flood Wardens have been calling on residents in flood risk areas to give advice on protecting home and family in the event of flooding. The Wardens are identified by their photo badges.
In conjunction with the Environment Agency and the three Flood Wardens, the Town Council have put together a Community Flood Plan. This Plan is in draft form but can be downloaded here and comments on the Plan are welcome.
The four flood risk areas and the Flood Warden with responsibility for each area are:

You should take steps to protect yourself and your home from flood risk. If you are in a high risk area, such as those listed above and shown on the map, you should take the necessary precautions and the Flood Wardens can give you advice.
