Warminster in Bloom Garden Competition 2012
In this year of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics, Warminster in Bloom has chosen ‘Celebration’ as its theme for the 2012 Garden Competition. Any garden, big or small, can be entered – or if you don’t have a garden, a window box or hanging basket will do! The Warminster in Bloom group has been busy involving businesses and neighbourhoods in making a special effort this year to make our town as vibrant as possible, and the Town Council’s hanging baskets and containers are being planted in Olympic colours as part of the theme. If you are passionate about your garden, don’t hide your light under a bushel – let us share in your enthusiasm. There are prizes and trophies to be won, so it’s well worth it!
Entries are invited for the following six categories:
Class 1: Most Celebratory Garden (Jubilee or Olympic theme). The first prize for this
class has been sponsored by Selwood Housing
Class 2: Most Celebratory Hanging Basket or Container
Class 3: Best Celebratory Display – Commercial Premises
Class 4: Best Children's Garden – Schools
Class 5: Best Sheltered Accommodation/Residential Home Garden
Class 6: Best Allotment
Entry forms are available from Warminster Town Council at the Civic Centre, or download the form attached. The closing date for entries is Friday 6th July, and judging will take place on Tuesday 10th and Friday 13th July. Entrants who need to arrange access to their gardens for the judging should contact the Town Council to agree a suitable time.
This is the usual annual garden competition that the Town Council runs, although it did not take place last year. Prizes of garden vouchers to the value of £25, £15 and £10 will be awarded for first, second and third place in each category.
