Public to be consulted on strategic land (SHLAA) sites
There was strong representation from members of the public at the Town Development Committee on Monday 26th November, keen to express their concerns about the number of strategic land (SHLAA) sites that had been identified by developers as desirable for housing developments. The chief concern was that since most of these sites are not included in the Core Strategy, the housing numbers that have already been proposed by Wiltshire Council will increase and Warminster will be in danger of becoming a dormitory town if future developments are not dovetailed into the Town Plan. The residents were keen to have the opportunity to discuss the list of SHLAA sites to give them a better understanding of what was being proposed, and the councillors agreed to set up an open meeting to discuss the sites, following which representatives from the public would be nominated to attend round table discussions
