Volunteers to clear up Bartholomew Lane
At a meeting of the Town Development Committee held on 23rd January, Councillors were approached by Colin French from the Warminster Cycle Group asking whether it would be permissible for him to organize a team of volunteers to join together with WETS (Warminster Environmental Team Services) to cut back the overgrown hedges and verges at Bartholomew Lane, and clear up the area. He noted that Newopaul Way is in a similar state, and that it could be considered as a future project. George Jolley, representing WETS, welcomed the approach from the Cycle Group and felt the two groups could work together if permission was given. The Councillors voted unanimously in favour of the proposal, and asked the Town Clerk to submit the request to Wiltshire Council. The Town Clerk has received a favourable response from Wiltshire Council, pending confirmation of the group members and the necessary approval of the equipment that will be used to implement the clear-up.
